Emerson is hired by a wife of a murder Chinese chef, Bao Di, to try and solve his case. Olive tries to find more evidence by going undercover into the Chinese restaurant where the victim used to work and Ned suddenly meets a man who says that he is somehow related to him in the past.

Emerson constantly gets annoyed with Chuck tailing himself and Ned on the cases while Ned doesn’t want to share anything with Chuck. Ned revives Bernard Slaybeck, a car safety specialist who was killed in a hit and run but before the man could explain the cause of his death Ned starts asking him romantic question about somebody who worked with him.

Everything starts with Ned, who works peacefully in his own pie bakery but his life is not completely “normal”. With a touch of his hand, Ned can revive people from the dead but if he touches them again it will kill them. Plus, if he keeps the revived person alive for more than one minute, another person dies. Ned decided to use this gift to solve crimes. Everything went well for him until he gave life to Charlotte, his childhood crush and decided to keep her alive.
